I purchased a watch just before this 4-day market rout. 😵‍💫

One owner watch (until it arrives), purchased May 3, 1968 (manufactured almost certainly in ‘67).

The owner was a fixed and rotary wing pilot for decades, and he’s been incredibly generous with his time sharing stories.

And pictures:

The watch is currently on a strap, and he doesn’t remember details regarding the bracelet. The photo above is the best photographic evidence of the bracelet.

When the watch arrives, I’ll be coming back looking to test my deduction attempt against the hive mind. The watch is unique, and I’m not super confident that my deduction will be remotely reliable.

Here’s to spending the next several days looking at my tracking number instead of my financial accounts.

Here for the learn,

Fixed wing pilots like 24hr dials, and helicopter pilots like chronos?

I just see 1 picture. I can’t tell what fixed wing that is. The usual suspects would be a 707 or a c-135 variant, nope. Not a C-130 variant... not a c-123.

Lockheed L-188 Electra
Nice pickup. You got it! Not an obvious choice. So I’m guessing Navy or Coast Guard based on haircut if he’s American.

also the plane Earhart died in... well assumed she died in.
