I don't know to be honest! Hopefully passed down to my (future) kids.

One watch kept for each son and niece/nephew, the rest, plus my first edition sci fi collection, my art collection and my wines, poured /piled up around me and the whole lot set on fire in a Viking style funeral...

However, in the event that Mrs K deems the life insurance insufficient to fund her Merry Widow lifestyle, I have, as others have done, also created a folder with photos, description, purchase date, purchase price estimated market value and including details for boxes/ extracts, papers etc as I keep those separately. The effort was in setting it up the first time, although it was partly fun too.

Two other points:

- I’ve also included any that are away at service and contact details for who they are with (I bet for the members here, at any point in time, there are a fair few away with watchmakers etc). I try to update mine every time I send something off.

- Also included contact details for a number of dealers / sites etc they can go to, to get valuations/potential sales, as that’s also something that won’t come easily to those not in the know.

I live in the UK but any watch related items I have left when I "exit stage left" are going to be sent to a best buddy in California.

He will know what to do, if I left them here who knows what would happen to them!

At least I won't be looking down.... or up, shouting at the family that its a 105.002 not just "one of those Moon Watch thingies that the old fella kept playing with".
Or, "please don't dive in that pool with my brown faced Ed White on"!

Whatever happens enjoy them yourself, don't leave them in the safe.

I gave my son my best for him to enjoy now and not when I'm gone.

Geez, I haven't even designated beneficiaries on all my accounts, let alone a will/codicil. I have no direct heirs, nor will I ever, but I know I need to formalize things to keep my nieces, nephews, & fiancee from having to deal with probate.

My son is at the stage where everything i value, he automatically doesn't!! So my watches, masonic jewelry, old cars and motorcycles, firearms, and other items I fully expect to end up on a card table at the nearest flea market.
Lol hilarious it could be worse. I have 2 daughters. I assure you the interest is zero.. they'll end up in the tip

Get your girls involved with your toys. Chances are they will love it. My 8yo daughter freaked out my boss when she told her, “lock your crown” else water can get in. Tears of joy.

“lock your crown” will be engraved on the back of a watch when she graduates.

i actually hope to do something similar. When i turn 60 (and my sons will be in their 20s), i plan to give them all my watches save for one i will keep and be my daily wear moving forward.
