Importance of box and papers

Recently acquired a Bond Ltd Edition SMP which came from a jeweller's with papers (yet not the Bond certificate of authenticity) but no corresponding 'Bond' box. My intention is to wear and enjoy the watch and then leave to my children. Should I try and source/buy an original box (there is one on eBay for £150) or years down the line will having no box make any difference to value? The paperwork (cards) in my eyes is the priority but will a full set increase value considerably? Thanks

Full set does make a nice thing and adds a few hundred to selling. But if your going to wear it for the next 20 years and give it to your children it's going to sit in a cupboard.
I myself don't bother too much. ( have a few but as said have sat in a cupboard for years )

If you can get one for £150 I would buy that as it is nice to have the full set.

The reality is, though, that it will just sit in a cupboard and take up space.

On balance, for £150 (given how much you will have spent on the watch), I would buy it.

Yeah, I am in two minds. The annoying thing is it won't quite be a full set as the watch would have come with a unique certificate of authenticity which is missing (re the limited edition number) and that can't be replaced (ie. to correspond with the edition number on my watch) so without that I'll never have the full set anyhow. Annoying how people lose these things (during house moves is the most common reason/excuse I've seen).

Think you can get the Cert reissued by Omega.

Know @tyrantlizardrex had a post about replacement cards a few months ago.
( not sure what cards they were )

The full set thing is interesting .. my Rolex 5513 came with outer/inner box and a warranty card. The boxes alone seem to be worth quite a bit on the market but as said because it is vauable it sits in my safe with my other mfg boxes taking up space. Stock up if you want to but you are just tying up cash in my opinion.

If you can get the right box for cheap, do it. Otherwise, I would not worry about it. I don't think it will considerably effect value for this model

They'll reissue plastic cards, but not LE certificates.

Thanks Chris 👍

Thanks also. Without the certificate paying alot for the box I don't think is worth it. I'd rather buy one of the huge new wooden ones if anything (but it'll never be used anyway).

If you're leaving it to kids for sentimental reasons, don't bother with the box. If you are leaving it as something they can sell on, get a box or just leave them the £150!

I would get the box. Even if you don't have the certificate of authenticity it will be more complete with the box.

Depends on what you intend to do. Like you said if you mean to pass it on, then I think box will mean little.
