Import tax /shipping question

Hi - I'm purchasing a watch part coming from Canada to US, what should I expect in terms of import duty. I know it depends on the Harmonized code etc. Also, how does insurance declaration vs. customs declaration play into the equation.

Anyone with experience in shipping to US from CAN who can advise is greatly appreciated

Really? I'm buying an insert so there is no import tax for something that's worth in the thousands?

This has a lot of information that I was looking at previously. Did not end up purchasing the item so don’t know how to pay the duties when shipping internationally.
Usually cbp charges a 3% flat fee for anything above 800 USD.
