Import from Canada to EU

I am buing a watch in Canada and the seller claim that there is a special accord between France (eu) And Canada for import so basically there is no import taxe and vat.
Can someone confirm this point?

I'm 99% sure that the seller is right, I read somewhere about a bilateral EU/Canada trade deal. Best thing to do is to go on the French Gov't website and calculate the TVA you should pay on the import. They'll state if Canada is exempt

The new trade agreement between EU and Canada (CETA) was approved by the EU Council and the EU Parliament but, now, needs to be ratified by all national parliaments before it take full efect. I don't know if it was already approved by France.

The agreement (CETA) only applies to import duties, is not appliable to taxes (like VAT)
