I thought the photo looked familiar too but I’ve never been to Côte d Azur. 🤷

Was recently in Alaska and took a helicopter ride and landed on a Glacier. It was a perfect day and had these deep blue pools which we landed by.

Like me & my dog, wandering around the Heath enjoying the sunshine - seemingly without a care in the world.

(Jim went on the lead pretty quickly)

I did this with my family many years ago. Standing on top of the glaciers is like an alien planet. They’re incredible.

It really was. They took us to the Ferebee Glacier which normally won't go to unless weather is perfect (usually the Meade Glacier) Our pilot found these deep blue pools and landed there. The other four helicopters ended up cresting another peak to drop off passengers and return to base for the next flight.

Shut the rotors down and once we got out, it was the five of us and her alone walking along the Glacier for 40 minutes. Really peaceful and other worldly. Honestly one of the most amazing experiences I've had.

We did something very similar around 1996 or thereabouts. I don’t remember the name of the glacier but I remember the pilot telling us about the dark tunnels of water that snake through the glaciers for miles and showing us one that touched the surface. It was a pit in the ice with fast rushing water going past. I remember the pilot saying if you fall in it’s the fastest, longest, darkest, and last water slide you’ll ever ride.
