My dog Carmelo (Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix) has finally figured out how to use the doggy door. He now just waits with his head through it waiting for birds and squirrels to come to the bird feeder so he can scare them off

I went off my usual beat the other day to meet someone about something at their village hall. Lots of normal life things were going on there that I had somehow forgotten about because they happen where I don't usually see them. It was a slight shock, then a real lift!

The mechanical beauty, and precision really gave me a thrill, until I realized where the hell are the spark plugs:whipped:

My daughter getting her MA in Liverpool on Wednesday. She worked bloody hard against occasional terrible odds. I’m so proud. It’s an image that makes me feel good

📖👍 The whole class of 2022 deserve lifelong respect. And let's hear it for the families and the professors too, and all the people behind the scenes who made it work. My academic cap is truly doffed!

So true. The admins that moved courses online during the pandemic, faculty that restructured the curriculum so the students now stuck in China could still learn about Tibet without going to prison, students that kept their shit together long enough to pull off a successful year. Impressive, all of them.

Speaking of school, here’s a pic I took today. Being out for a drive and finding a vintage sign that’s still being used and serving a purpose, that always makes me smile 👍

I was helping an old boy with some fencing (he is Bristol UK based) yesterday and noticed what good solid condition it was in after 25 years. He just takes it down and repaints it (ex boat / furniture carpenter). He told me it was Iroko wood….
Then he explained it was the wood they used on the SS Great Britain decks. The biggest most advanced ship afloat in 1843. The first iron hull screw propelled steam ship, and still not in bad nick when it came home to be rebuilt in 1970…. 127 years after it left port…probably a good call for fencing then :0)

Gotta love small town traditions. I took this on a recent road trip, too bad I wouldn’t still be in town to see it 🙁

Just something as simple as a puppy in the garden lifts my spirits, yes the grass is suffering from his antics but to be at the receiving end of his love and affection is something special 🥰

For the first time in a very long time, some Shakespeare live...

Richard III in Stratford, Ontario, starring Colm Feore in the lead.

We have been members of the Stratford Festival for many years, and upped our membership level during the pandemic when they had no money coming in. It was amazing to be back. Next up is Hamlet...

I know exactly how you feel. For me it was when the Opera House fully opened up (for the ballet) - but the buzz really hit me queuing for drinks at the intervals in the ram-packed Floral Hall bar 😵‍💫
