Went a different route on our Saturday morning walk - I have never been on a narrow boat but 3mph looks a nice speed to enjoy the countryside. We were out and about later in the day (some distance away) and drove through Stoke Bruerne (UK) - more narrow boats / must be a sign for my next holiday. It looks a lovely spot and won on points compared to our local view .. shame I could not stop for a pint. Maybe canal traffic will come back in vouge / much nicer than the motorway :0)

On vacation we spotted this kid’s roadside craft store while on our morning walk with a cup of coffee “Raising money for a sled and a climbing wall...”

Also found some blackberries...

... that we turned into a crumble

And, fresh eggs!

The season is changing in the UK. The last dragonflys are dodging the falling leaves / nature doing its thing and getting ready for winter.

This year I have seen just one dragonfly and I do go looking. Just one Swallow too -- where are they?

Is that the Roman Road over The Gogs?

It’s on an off shoot of the Fen Causeway so could have Roman origins. So far we have seen plenty of Dragonfly’s. Maybe slightly down on numbers but not by much. A lot of them seem to expire on the same day every year. I have seen that path covered in them once a few years back.

Without a photo it did not happen... very obliging if not the most colourful Dragonfly posing from today ... and a Roesel Bush Cricket from yesterday sunbathing / getting his temperature up... I am so glad I am higher up the food chain and dont have these guys after me. That Dragonfly has been practicing for 250 million years.
