When my old herd dog was bitten inside his nostril by a black widow spider he had a stroke moments later collapsing in the hallway and his hind quarters were mostly paralyzed. His cries , more of fear than pain, were heart breaking. I immediately set about helping him walk by folding a long beach towel and running it under his belly and using it to hoist him up level like carrying a suitcase. no easy task since he weighed around 130 pounds at the time. When I took him outside to answer the call of nature I'd help him up the steps by grasping each hind leg in turn and raising it to the next step. After two weeks of this he began to regain full use of his legs.
@Professor Thank you for that; A true furry Father’s Day story. People that care for/foster animals that are “not cute” or physically or developmentally disabled are truly in a class of their own
I used to have a Netherland Dwarf bunny as a pet when I was in medical school. He was a sweet little guy.
Enjoying a walk with one of the hounds earlier this evening and admiring the view reminds me of how fortunate we are having this on our doorstep
This was a laser light show from a Japanese artist at a Sydney art space a couple of years ago. You walked into a large pitch dark room, and faced a huge screen with rapidly changing pin sharp images, with another set of moving images projected onto the floor beneath you. It was surreal, exciting, and totally absorbing, like being immersed in a science fiction film - spirit lifting. For those interested, my old iPhone 5s produced this.
My adult son has a Shiba Inu dog that we watch for him during the day. He lifts my spirits with his attitude toward life.
I find myself liking so many of these photos.... and feeling spirits lifted.... it is like they are all good photos Brant :0) .
The timeless curves and contours of a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul always make me smile. Imagine designing something wonderful. Then the whole world spends 60 years copying and trying to improve it, but nothing they come up with compares to your original design.
Walking the banks of the River Dee last year, happy days that will come again https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/River_Dee,_Aberdeenshire
