My daughter was on the Duke equestrian team for a couple of years before we got hit head on in our car in her junior year, and we both broke both of our legs, and that was the end of that.
He's always wanted to serve in the Army ... when he was in high school he did a lot of camping, and I used to take him to our local Army surplus store so he could load up on MREs. I think the bloom is off that particular rose
Fantastic pictures! We took the kids to Maui in 2008, and had a great time, and I love to go back and look at some of the pictures we took. We arrived in Maui about 5PM Christmas Eve, and left to return home about 11:50PM on New Years eve. The ones that make me smile the most are not nearly as artistic as yours (maybe a couple)... Kihei on Christmas Eve with an iPhone camera on the night we arrived (after 9PM). My Avatar photo for the past several years, since the trip meant so much to me - reading an eBook on the beach across the street from our Worldmark timeshare, with the ball cap advertising Maui Dive Shop. Still have the cap and wear it all the time. Our snorkle and snuba adventure. My wife and I brought cameras down with us. We named him George Being with family on a great adventure. Gave my iPhone to a stranger for this. Beautiful sunsets the whole time (no green flash to get to the end of the world). The Haleakala volcano felt like being on Mars. Not mars... Road to Hana Surfing lessons for the kids was the highlight of their trip, made me so happy too. I go back and look at this trip's pics often, wishing that we had done more like this before the kids grew up.
Great pictures / a virtual holiday for us... despite using it many times I never noticed how 2001 the Eurostar shuttle is.... space shuttle more like :0)
Tennis! On a real court! Physically distanced, of course...adjacent courts are closed so down to 4 from 8 courts normally available. No double allowed, so only two players on court at the same time.
Love of my life. To continue snow man theme. She likes cars, proper art and sports. Could I wish for more? I don't think so. P.S. She goes: "Daddy, they are going to watch you working, just to make sure you are not working too much." and putting little figures on my key board.
I've enjoyed this thread enormously, so thought I should pull my finger out and start contributing. This one still makes me laugh. An impromptu ho-down mid (my) wedding ceremony with someone else's wife. As you do. Cal.267 if anyone is wondering.
