If you would have only ONE Omega-watch—what would it be?

Applying the Zombie Apocalypse test (what do you grab before you flee to the hills), this would be the Omega on my wrist when I become dinner for the Zombies.

Lots of good examples of 'one only' Omegas. But to me the key model that has defined Omega over the last five decades is the Speedmaster. I've had at least one Speedmaster in my collection since 1972, but the one that really touches all bases is fairly new, the Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon. The Apollo 8 mission was the first crewed flight of the Saturn V rocket, the first time men had escaped earth's gravity, the first visit to the moon, and Earthrise. People finally understood that all that 'going to the moon' talk was real, it was happening!

The Apollo 8 watch is a modern size made out of modern material, but still has a movement that has a lot of the original DNA brought to life with a very unique finish representing the light and dark sides of the moon. And it is thinner to boot. A very easy to wear watch and nice to look at during the day. If I could only have one Omega I'd take the Apollo 8.

For now, this is my choice also. I have an Apollo 11 50th turning up eventually, but it’ll need to be good to displace the Apollo 8 which has quickly become my favourite watch across all that I own.

This question intrigued me and it stayed in my head without a clear answer.
Was it a rational yet emotional reply which was whispering in my ear: The new A11 50A (yes?)
-Most up to date movement technology ever - co axial (nearly friction free), hacking second hand, METAS rested, untouchable by magnetism (silicon hairspring).
-Homage to history- the 50th anniversary, DON, bracelet design harkening to those early years,
-ceramic bezel - high scratch resistance as is its sapphire crystal.
-dial- astronaut badass and foot print. Gold (which I adore- when tomb robbers raid an ancient site, the most valuable thing in it is gold - Chinese emperors’ tombs, pharaohs’ tombs -king Tut golden mask - and gold lasts a millennium ) NAIAD lock, Limited Edition, same DNA (NASA and cosmonauts still use its predecessor), those immortal words - one small step for a man. ...
And then there were other models , with equally many Super and logical reasons.
I still have no real answer but perhaps I can live with this semi gold master that remains a most cherished watch to me.

Great thoughts&ideas!!!
It is very interesting to think the watches this way:
What if I would have to keep only one; what would it be? Very easily I get carried away ending up having too many watches—and then I can’t appreciate those watches anymore. Just too many. I’ve been narrowing my collection—let’s see what happens...

I can hardly imagine the circumstances that would compel me to choose just one as the only one. But this one would come close.
I drool when I look at that. Dibs if you sell it!

I don’t know why, but I love this watch. I prefer it over my Sea Dweller, Speedmaster Coaxial racing, and my vintage Omegas. I like the lume (I know some don’t). I just like the look and feel of this watch. I think it is a substantial feeling on the wrist. You know it’s there but I like that. The great thing is there are so many watches, one mans favorite is another man’s next sell because they don’t like it.

For me it's gonna be the sky fall 38.5 AT. Not only because it's a beautiful watch, it also fits my small wrist well. Sometimes it's all about the fit.

Just one?

🙁

Then it would have to be the humble little 9ct Genève my Dad left me.

Hardly worn by me, just held and looked at and "remembered".

Never to be sold.

To be passed to my Son when I shuffle off.
