If you could only keep one watch...

I politely disagree, the ceramic Daytona is the only modern watch I wear. It’s not bulky like many new Omega and Rolex sports models and has that iconic lineage.

I find its face too busy: too many words, hands that are too complicated, overly dressed hour markers and those silly rings around the subdials all give me a headache. These shortcomings, for me, impair legibility.

I want to love the post-70’s Daytonas but haven’t been able to muster much affection for them at all.

easy peasy. The watch that had to be dumbed down to make a Daytona.

Tough call. My "one watch" would have to be this:

But I would be sad, because I would miss these:

Thank God I don't have to go down to one watch... or anything less than I have now.

Nice. I think you dread the question because you know in your heart of hearts that your one watch should be a Speedmaster. 😗

It's a perfect dress watch.

( 😜 )

My ultimate goal is to get down to single digits (except for heirlooms). 2 slots are filled - my Breitling Chrono Cockpit and a Seiko diver which is currently filled by the Pepsi SKX009. That leaves 7 dress watches to cover all metal / leather situations, matching belts / shoes combinations. I will get there soon.

One watch, lol. I wonder if there is anyone on this forum that owns just one watch? Not counting no nuffin bloke who has his dad's most awesome speedy.

I will play along. For me it's this one.

Now when I hit retirement age, I'm going all out with the gold skeleton speedy on a gold bracelet. That will be my daily wearer. And I'm going to post it every day in WRUW. 15 more years until I start posting that one daily, so look out!

I know it's an omega forum, and I love my speedmaster, but for all round use, and useful complications; gmt function and date , it's got to be my explorer 216570 !!

Guess I could try and manage with the 14755 although life may be shortened due to the stress of avoiding bezel damage on a constant basis

The watch that wears best for me is my Benrus tonneau case but I'd have to say I'd keep my inherited Omega DeVille over all others even with its missing lug.

Easy decision for me. It would be my go to watch for every occasion when any other watch in my collection will not do: a Rolex Submariner with ceramic bezel and date. Thankfully, it’s not something I will have to do in the foreseeable future, as there would be a lot I would miss.

Yes! @sdre
Guys, remember: it’s not “which watch would you take to a nuclear war”, just

If you had to get rid of all your watches and wanted to keep one last special one, to remember the others, but that you’d also be wearing every day.

Oh, and so maybe you’ll read this post, here’s a picture of my runner up

Big surprise

Would have to be a diver and a beater for where I live, and this is why I don't need a Rolex Sub

It would be this one:

I bought it in October 2008 and has been my beater since. During this time I´ve bought many watches and sold others. But I do not think I would let this one go. It is discreet, it is a Rolex that does not scream Rolex, sporty and dressy at the same time, very accurate and definitely bombproof.
