....or, in classic Rocky & Bullwinkle alternate title fashion: "You f馃がers beat me into submission". (Okay, so it's a very Joizey alternate title. 馃槣)

I'm sure most of you are aware of the Japanese seller eLady. Occasionally, they send discount codes / coupons to previous customers (which I am, thanks to Enabler Evan / @gatorcpa and a vintage IWC). Well, my wife has been bugging me for some matching accessories for her Louis Vuitton bag that I got her when she received her Masters Degree, so I had to buy these....

....so I could also buy a watch, or she would have probably shot me. You guys all know how it is, right? 馃槦

Anyway, on to the part we're here for! What most of you don't know, but the moderators do, is that I've come very close a few times to pulling the trigger on an 80's or 90's version of a Speedy. The first time ended up being how we outed a scammer on what we think was a late 70's Moonwatch. The second time was actually buying a watch in mediocre shape - poor dial, but with a good case - to use as a donor to make a franken project using the blue dial & bezel that a member offered here (I think it was @Spacefruit , or maybe @gemini4). I 鈾ワ笍 Omega's blue dials, and could have made this pretty cheaply. Anyway, neither attempt came to fruition. However, the third time is the charm, so I present my freshly purchased 3573.50 Sapphire Sandwich!

Even at the original price eLady was asking it was a great buy. Add in the discount and free shipping, and I couldn't pass it up. Given that I was going to buy one of the display backs for either of the above watches I ended up passing on, this made sense. So now I've come out of the closet. 馃え Did I do okay? 馃槈 馃槑

ps - the LV stuff became mandatory when I left the listing showing on my computer and Windy caught it. 馃檮 馃檨

Seriously - eLady is a site that sells watches!:

But the real tip off was the bracelet...

Don't you know the old school WIS way of buying the watch on it's bracelet, then install a strap and stashing the bracelet away for when you sell the watch? This way you can legitimately say the bracelet is LNIB and "unworn". 馃槈

Hahaha! Not as good as the April Fool's joke I played years ago. I started the set up in late February / early March while doing Basel press releases for Blancpain and their new moonphase in rose gold with a guilloch茅 dial. It wasn't a stretch to think I was enamored with that watch (because I was) and might just find a way to buy it. Adding in a pinch of truth and some more believable details along the way was what sold the prank.
