Hello I have a question for those of you who have owned this watch/movement now or in the past. I’ve comd to realize a hindwind does not get the second hand subdial activated. A little shake will but not a wind alone. It’s under warranty but I don’t know if this warrants sending it back. I’d appreciate any info. I did research this but don’t seem to find a direct answer on the subject. WatchBox offered to send me a shipping label to send it back but they say it was recently serviced and doesn’t sound like a problem
Are you winding the crown in the clock-wise direction?

Hello, this movement only winds one way. It’s a little bit of pain in the ass but a minor inconvenience for a good movement

I’m not sure what you are describing. Can you please list how to reproduce the error and clearly describe the error?

are you saying your fully winding the watch and it doesn’t start until you shake it?
Yes, sorry I guess I’m doing a poor job describing. Winding alone will not make the second hand tic

I hope I didn’t mislead you into thinking it is common because it really isn’t. AFAIK the only 2 models with logo equipped sapphire crystals are the Trilogy Seamaster 300 and Trilogy Railmaster. The Trilogy Speedmaster has a logo too but that has a Hesalite crystal of course. I am not aware of any others at present. I wonder if the newer Speedy LE's with sapphire like the Apollo 50th have it?
There is no Omega logo on the Apollo 11 50th crystal, nor on the Apollo 8.

I thought not but it’s good to have it confirmed. 👍

If you fully wind the watch until you cannot wind it more. And you have to shake it for it to start. Something is amiss.

It’s an auto, so you can wind it forever...

On the self-starting issue, it should fire up with a few winds on the spring. If it doesn’t then there could be a problem. Watches that are serviced by the seller sometimes don’t get the best service...

I agree he shouldn't have to shake it to get it to start, but this is an automatic watch, so I don't think he will reach a point where he can't wind it any more.

I have some vintage automatic pieces that respond the same way of not starting after manual winding until I shake it, but they are much older than this and will sit for months at a stretch. Not sure if a modern 7750 should be “quirky” like that.

But are you winding it clockwise?

I think this may be a misunderstanding where one of you is referring to hand-winding, while the other is talking about uni-directional auto-winding.

Thank you....to clarify, I'm asking if OP is turning the crown hand winding in clockwise direction.

I gotta say this watch is so pristine, and I don’t think it’s been polished, I’m not wearing it too often. I tend to be rough on watches. I was working on a car yesterday, just getting it ready to sell (if anyone is looking for a caddy that has been nothing but problems I have one for you, willing to trade for a nice timex) but I realized I was wearing one of my omegas. It was a decent dynamic, I’m only supposed to work on cars wearing my Vostok as sometimes I can use it as a hammer. Anyway I never wear an automatic when banging around and especially not a watch of value but I was inadvertently that day.

Caddies can be a pain to work on some times. Mine is a 1995 and has the last reliable engine in the Deville (the 4.9l) but it is a pain to get at the back bank of the engine for changing of spark plugs

Like driving on a cloud. You could run over a few children and not even notice with that suspension.

Do you get a "pointer's license" instead of a Drivers license when you take the test with one? 😀

Thats why there is a hood ornament. It is used for lining the car up with the road.
