Just received this speedy reduced 3513.50. It wasn’t what I originally set out for but now that I have it I’m really liking it. I’m going to try to put these pics up with my iPhone. I don’t know why they come out crappy sometimes with some of these phones costing as much as a decent watch. Every picture should be flawless with these phones. 850 stamped on the bracelet I have the original set as well View attachment 835871 View attachment 835869 View attachment 835865 View attachment 835869 View attachment 835865 View attachment 835867 View attachment 835869 View attachment 835871

First critique, that isn't a Reduced. That is based on the infinitely preferable 7750 movement and so shouldn't be tarred with the same brush as the 'Reduced' The Autos like this have a sloping bezel which runs up to the crystal which is usually sapphire. The Reduced models (with one exception) use a domed Hesalite and have a flat bezel like the Pro, they are actually rather different.

Oh thank you. The problem I had is I was going back and forth on several models and was rather confused in the end. And of course you are right I looked at all the notes I took and I did not have reduced written down next to this. It was just serviced, 15 month warranty everything is working well but I need to get an app to track the time. From what you can say would say it’s a solid pick? I can see brushing in proper places, I’m sure it’s been touched up but it’s does not appear overly polished.

It’s hard to see details in those photos because most of them are focused on the background instead of the watch. See if you can get the camera to focus on the watch itself.

Not being critical here, just trying to give helpful advice.

I'm not well versed in Speedmasters or their movements. How is the 7750 preferable?

Ok thanks ya I gotta try better pics if need be I’ll delete the whole thing and try again. I didn’t take it as critical at all I know there is a better way to do pics with this phone I just don’t seem to get it right.

Because it is an integrated full chronograph movement designed as such. Yes it is big and basic and only winds in one direction but consider that the Reduced Speedy uses a regular 3 hander movement, usually a 2892 or similar with a bolt on Dubois Dupraz module. This is a solution which works and has a long and mostly distinguished history, stemming back to the late 1960s. It has been used by both Omega (Speedsonic) and Heuer (Chronomatic) and more recently by everyone but still is less desirable for several reasons than a purpose designed movement. There is some debate about the Reduced, some accuse those who think less of it of snobbery, perhaps there is something in that view, but the reality is it is a Heath Robinson Chrono, with functional and servicing drawbacks.

Excellent answer. Thanks

So this I believe is the 1150 movement but I need to check. That is an “offshoot” of the 7750 right. And I only say offshoot as I can’t think of a better word. I know this 3513 is a “lesser” speedmaster but I read positive things about it, main complaint was the bracelet. I got to size it up but it certainly doesn’t feel or look bad.

I like that bracelet too, I have something similar on some SMPs and a Speedy Pro. No such thing as a lesser model. We each cherish something different, even the modular models have fans (its just I am not one of them)

Yep 7750 derivative:

Looks nice to me. The condition looks clean, from what I can see there are no dings on the bezel edge area (often the first place I notice any wear). Most images are a bit blurry to determine if the case has any wear (or polish), but it looks like a winner to me. Enjoy it!

Walrus, go in a brightly lit area, two finger zoom in a little but so it’s not at wide angle, place the watch down and hold the phone steady, tap on the area you want to focus and it will blur then get sharp as it focuses- then snap. Rinse and repeat

I believe these are technically called Speedmaster Dates.

Much better pieces then a reduced if it fits your arm.
