If I could please trouble you for an honest critique of this watch.

Nice watch. I like Valjoux 7750 watches. There is many many many posts that proclaim that a mechanical watch has a soul because it has moving parts (like the balance) however if this is true, then the Cal. 7750 has the most soul out there. As mentioned by Padders, the 7750 only winds one way. The other way the rotor freewheels. Sometimes you can really get the rotor to freewheel very fast. This causes the watch to feel like it is alive and dancing on your wrist. This movement is also called a wobbler as the fast freewheel causes the watch to wobble. I like the feel of this and actually miss it when not wearing a watch with a 7750 in it.

I used to have one of these, great watch! Ended up selling mine after I got a speedy pro -- as I much prefer the legibility of speedy pro than the polished hands and indices on speedy date.

Hey I gotta ask something. First of I am pleased with this watch thus far. I still going to put up better pics for your consideration but I’m noticing there is no visible omega on the crystal. I payed a premium in trade on this and I was told it was 100% original. I would not even be that concerned about the crystal if I told it was changed but they say it was not. Any reason I wouldn’t see the symbol on this watch?

Not entirely true! Some Omega sapphire has it too. But not the OP model, that never did.

Oh dude thanks for the quick answer. I got this from WatchBox.com dealt with a gentleman named Hans. They are great to deal with. I want to withhold full praise till I get up pictures that show the watch rather than my beat up couch and carpet but the place isn’t cheap, they will work with you on price, I didn’t mind paying a little more for the full service and warranty. I’m just nervous to deal with eBay as I just see too many problems and scams.

Ok I just took some new pics for your consideration. I’m hoping you can see the brushed look an the sides versus a couple areas on the case that show the polish. I can’t find any dings or scratches to highlight. Any comment on these? Are the pics any better. I put some pics up at another site and the only response I got was someone offering to buy/trade it. I found that odd as if I was looking to sell it trade I probably wouldn’t have heard anything. I’m just looking for an honest assessment on how it looks if these pics are no good I’ll try again

Oh and the wrist shot. Excuse the cuts I was trying to trim my cats nails and he had other thoughts on the activity

Ah, so this has blown out a misconception for me then. Do you know what models have the logo on the sapphire? This could be a game changer in the sapphire/hesalite conundrum. (Sorry for the hi-jack)

I hope I didn’t mislead you into thinking it is common because it really isn’t. AFAIK the only 2 models with logo equipped sapphire crystals are the Trilogy Seamaster 300 and Trilogy Railmaster. The Trilogy Speedmaster has a logo too but that has a Hesalite crystal of course. I am not aware of any others at present. I wonder if the newer Speedy LE's with sapphire like the Apollo 50th have it?

Ha, no this is certainly my top watch place but I did post it on Reddit as I’m on that site. I deleted it though after two sales trade requests.

You had me excited for a second there @padders. I wonder why don’t they just logo every sapphire if it is actually possible?

Hello I have a question for those of you who have owned this watch/movement now or in the past. I’ve comd to realize a hindwind does not get the second hand subdial activated. A little shake will but not a wind alone. It’s under warranty but I don’t know if this warrants sending it back. I’d appreciate any info. I did research this but don’t seem to find a direct answer on the subject. WatchBox offered to send me a shipping label to send it back but they say it was recently serviced and doesn’t sound like a problem

I’m not sure what you are describing. Can you please list how to reproduce the error and clearly describe the error?

are you saying your fully winding the watch and it doesn’t start until you shake it?
