Identifying 2 Seamasters

What has your due diligence shown you so far?

Those pics are bad. From what I can see: both ok. First one is probably a 2577.

Second one looks like a 165.002. Really poor photo, so can’t be certain but seems original dial.

It would be worth doing some research on these reference numbers so you know what original watches look like and what a reasonable price it. That way you’re at least armed with some knowledge.

The first watch looks similar to my 1950 model 2577 calibre 351.

That said, your photos are very poor and the lack of clarity makes it difficult to be certain and you really need to check out the movement number.

If you can ascertain the number and date, then it may be a 'pre-Seamaster', Seamaster in which case it would be unlikely to have ‘Seamaster' written on the dial (it might be a later addition) and that might affect the value although, assuming your watch is gold capped rather than solid gold, these aren’t the most valuable of vintage pieces.

So, apart from the possibility that the writing on the dial may or may not be original, I also think that the crown may be a replacement.
