My father in law had 2 Omegas but he has now passed. One was his (metal strap) and was purchased in 1959, the other (leather strap) belonged to his father but I do not have the receipt or purchase date for the older watch. Any thoughts or ideas of model for both and age for the older watch please? I'd like to get a little history before I pass them on to his Grandson.
Also as an aside, they both are working just fine but is a full service recommended?

Both look very nice One has papers open them and reference number etc should be there.
Yes service makes sense if they will be worn, as oils likely dry and regular use may damage parts.
Take them to independent watchmaker with Omega parts account. Service usually $300-400 plus parts. When they open watch all info is inside Caseback and on movement SN date charts avail. Really nice heirlooms!
