New to this forum and seeking some assistance re my father's Seamaster c. 1986 please.
Does not have original, possibly crocodile skin, band and back has been either swapped out and engraved, or polished off and engraved.
Is it worth swapping out the engraved back? Also, what would be the best method of sale, and average value?
Many thanks in anticipation,
JB

These are not considered collectible by ardent watch collectors. Consider spending as little as you can to make it wearable, and keep it. You won’t recover the cost of repairs you mentioned, if you try to sell it.

Yes, dated 1986.
TBH, I think that the engraving for your father is arguably the most valuable part of the watch.

Fair enough; I'd better consider his ancestry if I try to sell it! Thank you.
