This dial has a very 1960's look to it, but it was used in the late 1940's to early 1950's era. Here is another example in a different case reference:

IMO, original and likely correct.

Haha I don't know anymore. If it's all original, I would be extremely happy.

I'm sending it in to Artdialwatch in Detroit for an authentication (necessary?) and a service.

I think they do it to set the hands at 1350 and forget to push the crown back in. Then when they see the crown out in the pics they can't be bothered to take more.

I'm guilty of that 😬

You will get a better auth here.

It’s real and no way to say if it’s a service dial or not.

All that matters is that you like it.

Okay guys, there's two things I need to comment on:

1) That's a bumper caliber 34x, so the dial does look like a later service replacement or a very good refinishing job with later fonts. The fonts look like they're from the 60's and bumpers were gone by the mid / late 50's. Seeing as the movement has an 11 million serial number (late 1940's), it reinforces Norm's / X350 XJR's call on the replacement dial.

2) People pull the crown out to stop the seconds hand for pictures. However, many of them don't know these older watches don't have a hacking mechanism, and therefore the second hand won't stop by pulling out the crown, because they don't have vintage experience.

I'm not terribly concerned if it is a service dial but I do want to know the value of the watch if it was a service or if it was original.

What is the buy value that would be placed on this type of Omega?
$600-700?
Oh God, no. Personally, I wouldn't buy this one as there's no place for it in my collection and it would be hard to impossible to re-sell. That said, £2-300 (150-200 hammer price at auction).

dang. Even with the original I paid more than that.
Depends on lots of things
That is only an estimate.
These two are 2576 but you can see one with relume and one with original lume. The prices are different.

I've looked for about 6-8 months for something like this watch and this is the only one that's popped up with a price within my budget. Honestly, as long as it's not a refinished dial (doesn't look like it is), I'm going to keep it. Finding something comparable has proven to be extremely difficult as it is.
