id love to hear your opinion on my 1964 constellation

    hello everybody im peter from the Netherlands and after my espresso hobby to my wives horror i discovered mechanicle classic watches especialy omega and longines. i bought this watch on chrono24 from a shop in brussels that has serviced it and gave me 2 years of warrenty, a 1964 cal 561 pie pan omega constellation 14k/ stainless
    im wondering about the crown of the watch i see it on seamasters and some older models but on similar connies i see differend crowns never one like this, 3 pics i had to make from my computer of the original add because i cant open the watch myselve. btw sorry for any spelling mistakes englisch is not my native.

    Hi peter, looks good! Nice dial and case. Also de caseback medaillon looks shap. The crown is indeed not original for this model i think. The original buckle is a nice bonus.

    It is a Seamaster crown of a type not normally used on Constellations. However, a few early Omega advertisements show this type of crown on Constellations, so it is possible that it is original to the watch.

    Another possibility is that the original crown was replaced some time ago and the Seamaster crown was added more recently to replace that, as originals of the correct Constellation crown are extremely hard to find. You can choose whichever explanation you like best! Personally I don't think it looks bad on the watch.

    in the article that KingCrouchy showed me they talk about a four leave clover crown on some connies that sounds like my crown , but my gues is indeed its bin replaced at some time ago. i think the crown fit the watch and looks great and the fact that some models where like this im ok with it. i wear it allot and get great responces, they are realy things of beauty

    Thanks Peemacgee i like the steel and gold color of the watch, i must say that the arrowhead dial version that iv seen on the forum is even nicer
