I've been following for a couple of days and never in my wildest dreams believed you would get your watch back.
Great work mate.
Love a happy ending.

I'm really glad this had a happy ending for you. All the time and effort you (and the ones who helped you) spent in this payed off. The others who got scammed might feel some satisfaction, as well. If their watches can be returned, that would be amazing, but that's for the future. For now though, I think this is an absolute win.

Side note: You really got me with that DW picture haha. I actually shouted "Noooo! 馃が".

Got you? I nearly had a heart attach... still waiting for mine....

@Time2watch1973 has Stefan Birgir Stefansson and Magnus Sigurdsson reached out to you about sending your railmaster back?

Oh yes, have a tracking number and all that. Just mine isn't getting here until next week...

Now knowing that Robin got his increases the chances that I will actually get mine back.

So, maybe I have watched too many crime movies, but since he commited mail fraud in the US, and he has defrauded many others globally/ would this be of interest to the FBI and Interpol? And if he has accomplices, that鈥檚 a conspiracy. Have you notified them yet?

Not sure about the U.S., as I am in Canada and I am pretty sure Robin is in Australia.

On my side, I have involved the RCMP, Interpol and the Icelandic Police.

@Time2watch1973 is yours delayed by a week due to him mailing it a week late or just shipping to Canada takes longer?

I peg him as a young guy without much money who is really into watches. Sheesh the guy was on here for months bantering about crap just like everyone else. He has done that with multiple accounts on multiple forums for years. Somewhere along the line he saw other members as means to an end to grow his collection.
The watch he sent to scam the OP kind of proves that. It looks like he got some cheap vintage watches and at some point decided to upgrade his collection by scamming people.
Strange how people approach the need for something better. I figured, if I need rolex in my collection, I need to work harder, get a better job etc. Some people are looking for an easy ways....but there are no easy ways!

Wow that is bad, what were you originally promised?

Tudor Black Bay GMT - he had even taken a picture of it in front of my DM to his offer:

I assume this is the same BB he was wearing in the pictures he send Robin, while he was packing his watch.

I knew something was up when he did not reply after he received my Omega Railmaster. I even dreamed the day before receiving the POS, that I opened an empty box. This was worse than an empty box, smashed up fake IWC and some candles. I was so pissed!!!

Did I tell you guys that I caught him trying to sell my Omega Railmaster on the Rolex Forum? Raised a stink on their general forum as well. Same on WUS, raised a stink there.
I think it's insulting that he put candles, why candles.

I would assume it is for the weight. So that when I tracked the package, it had a weight that would suggest a watch box.

The box is is sending me now is 2.68 KG - which sounds about right for that giant Omega box.

Was this before the entire discovery/investigation or after?

Question for those who have both SOLD and TRADED watches:
- it seems many of this user's scams involved trades
- is there some psychological reason that maybe makes such a scam easier for the perpetrators to pull off?
-- when selling a watch, the buyer sends money and worries the seller won't ship the right thing... 'feels' like bigger risk on behalf of buyer, seller likely only ships when money received
-- when trading a watch, as each have something to lose, perhaps it 'feels' like less of a risk as each party has an equal amount to lose and this feeling of 'shared risk' maybe makes one more prone to trusting the other party?

Just curious... (I have never sold or traded anything away... but have sent funds in advance on 9 occasions to 9 different sellers, each time I received exactly what was promised)
