The bezel can rotate freely indeed. It’s slimmer than you might expect, only 12mm thick.

The more I look at it, the more I'm spazzing out over all the little details. Those numerals especially, and the slight curves on the hour markers (bit like a shark tooth) are just superb. Beyond jealous! Have to abandon this thread now! 😉

How many here went immediately to eBay after seeing this thread to see if there were any there?

The sleepless nights will get better, I’ve been through it as well when I first saw this watch... ;-)

Interesting piece. Where does the bracelet go?

Its not a wrist watch.
Its a pendant/pocket watch.
I’ve also seen one as a money clip with a frame around it which flexes.

For a minute when you said you had to wait as the sun had gone down, I didn’t think it was because of the lack of light for a good photo, I just thought it also had a sun dial function 😵‍💫

Super cool timepiece 👍

That’s a far more elegant solution than my US military cuff-catcher

Wonderful engineering!! And very clever. But it’s lack of success was likely down to simple solutions like the above “cuff catcher”

why pay a fortune for a clever solution when you can pay a penny for a simpler one

reminds me of the NASA story, they spent many years and millions of dollars on developing a pen that could work in zero gravity, the Russians just used a pencil

I love the effort into making it beautiful, someone somewhere was very proud of their work on that design

I picked this up a few months ago from a seller who was selling quite a nice 1990's Chinese automatic even though it was a cheap and common brand but he also had this for sale at the same time, with the price pretty much a giveaway.
