The Speedmaster will come soon, along with my retirement. It may be a FOIS unless I can convince a couple of Speedy owning acquaintances to sell me theirs.
First choice is from a watchmaker who has a “mid Sixties” model. I have not seen it because he says he is saving it for his son. “I have a few Pie Pan Omegas and some 50s Longines to sell you if you want.” He said. I am keeping them in mind but must focus!

Second choice is from a retired colleague who got the watch from his grandfather. Wrist shot attached (top). Not for sale but I bug him every other day. I don’t even know how old it is. He wore it once during a Tigers game we attended together years ago.

As for the X-Ray machine, well, we bought a 150 year old building with some established businesses and a 2500 square foot loft. We are finding weird things up in that loft.

The X -Ray machine scares me. It is from the Weber Dental Co and I think they have been out of business since the mid 70s. I will show this to my neighbours, who are retired dentists. For now, it is mounted to a wall as found.

Other items include an old Motorcycle, a Zenith sign and a large suitcase that we opened and immediately closed. It is destined for the dump. It contains numerous DVDs. The theme of the DVDs rimes with…corn.

If you know anything about this X Ray Machine please let me know!

Congrats on the building! Going thru it will be fun 👍

Please please put the suitcase on EBay with a $1 starting big and no reserve. “Stinky suitcase full of ‘70s porn” it would be fascinating to see how high the price goes 😁

This sounds like a really fun loft that may or may not have been occupied by a serial killer

The sign is worth a few bucks. The X-Ray machine is very dangerous. Do not even consider applying power to it. I see it is 25Hz instead of the normal 60Hz; you must be somewhere in New York or New Jersey where 25Hz power persisted into the 70s.

As a watch collector, you’re off to a good start. The X-Ray machine tells me there is still a bit of “accumulator” in you! 😉

Get a professional to decommission that x ray machine. That scares the hell out of me to see anyone near it. They contain active nuclear material.

Wrist shot watch appears to be a late 145.022-76 (1977 production) to mid 80’s piece.

And don't forget to post a link to the auction. Purely for academic purposes...

Why worry about the lume on old dials when you've got one of those babies lying around!?! 😁

An X ray machine usually has to be registered with the state you are in and disposal requires appropriate documentation. Contact your state dental board or public health department to see how you can dispose of it. Also there are many people who may want it but selling it also requires appropriate documentation. There are companies who buy used Medical / Dental equipment they may have a collector looking for these things, but I doubt it. But one of these companies may even be able to help you dispose of it.

@Duracuir1 likewise may find the province of Ontario has protocols in place to deal with such equipment. Being involved in law enforcement, I am certain he’ll take the necessary steps.

I got involved with law enforcement in Ontario once, but not for being responsible 😬

Yes! This is how we met.

Me: DaveK, mind telling me why you’re doing 110 mph in a 50 zone?

DaveK: Yeah, this piece of crap won’t do 115!

Who loves you @Canuck ? The machine will be properly taken care of, by the way. Thank you everyone for the advice!

Officer: Are you aware you were doing 80 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone?

Driver: You must be wrong officer. This car won’t run for an hour!

LOL, that’s too funny. This indeed was my first (and only) speeding ticket! Northern Ontario (Thunder Bay) has long stretches of winding 80km/hr roads where passing is dangerous and not allowed. Every 20 minutes or so there will be a widening of the road where a passing lane is added for a short bit. I was behind this butthole who would drop to 70km/hr on the no-passing stretches, then speed up to 120km/hr in the stretches where I could pass. I finally had enough and passed him doing what must have been 130km at least. Well, that was exactly where the speed trap was 😲. The cop pulled out, the light bar lit up and my diaper suddenly got a bit heavy. Technically I would have been considered as stunt driving - in Ontario this is where they impound your car and fine you into the next century. I was quite proud and relieved to be able to talk the situation down to a $70 fine (or thereabouts). I was still pissed that the dinkus got away but I was the one with the report card to take home 😒

Looks like you have a good old vintage Weber 6R wall mounted unit... hopefully with the Isotope already removed.... For now tread with care and invest in some lead pants :0)…. and also a new timer - the one fitted was not recommended / was out of date.... in 1967....
