I need a bracelet for my Speedmaster 145.022-69st HF

I'm looking for an original bracelet for my Speedmaster. In 1970 for Father's Day, I bought a 1969 Speedmaster for my dad with money that I saved from shoveling driveways (I was 10). My father died in September a few weeks shy of his 94th birthday and crazy enough, I got the watch back. Somewhere along the way my father changed the bracelet to a non-Omega and I'd like to make it as original as possible. Where do I start to look and is it worth it? I just had the watched serviced and cleaned at Nesbit's in Seattle and got it back today. Thanks.

Hello and welcome. That's a very nice '69 Speedmaster, you can put a 1039 w/516 end links on that watch. They come up for sale here on the forum and run around ~$1k depending on condition. You can also elect to put a 1171 w/633 end links on it which costs a lot less.

Best of luck to you.

How many driveways you need to shovel to buy that Speedmaster? Welcome and a very cool story.

As atwg mentioned, either would work, just depends on amount of cash you want to spend.

Why don't you start looking through your dad's things? Maybe he kept the bracelet - possibly in the original box.

Back then, Speedmasters were around $300 IIRC. A strong back in a New England town, and you could do that in one winter. You'd be a pretty buff 10 year old too.

How does 1116/575 rank in terms of affordability compared to 1171/633? Ballpark fig?

Hi

IMHO - £200 - £250 GBP should do it.....

Best - Neil

My omega 145022-68 with strap 1116/575, the quality is good and it's very comfortable.

May I suggest a 1175 bracelet, which is correct for the age and is more 'vintage' in appearance.
