I set a max bid of $50,000 by mistake, thankfully it ended around $5k-ish and I didn’t lose a mint.

I friend of mine put his Corvette for sale on eBay and instead of a BIN price of $17000, he put it at $170.00. He quickly got a message from a buyer who said, "I'll come pick it up tomorrow, do you want cash or will a check be ok?" Fortunately the buyer figured it was a mistake and he was good about.

Fortunately, there is a safety net for honest mistakes on eBay.

We call this “going Ashley”.

It looked like a very nice watch, but I’m surprised what mid-level Seamasters bring these days.

It ain’t just Seamasters- everything vintage is off the hook right now. I have been stunned by what some watches that were $250 2 years ago are bringing today
