You aren't @Arunski who got rapid delivery on an Ed White 321, Snoopy and a few others, are you? Because your two stories are remarkably similar. If so you made it sound if you just play nice-nice with an OB all the good stuff will come your way in short order. Having an insider is a lot different than being an average guy who has to work with an OB and hope they might get 'the call'. Just wondering how you scored a much wanted watch from a dealer's personal collection.

Surprised they wouldn’t take the watch out of the case to show it. Saw one in London, the sales people at the boutique were happy to let me try it on, even though it was not for sale just for display.

It does sound odd. There are times when staff feel ill at ease with dodgy looking customers. However given most watch shops vet customers at the door, it does seem bizarre they wouldn't allow a potential customer to try their wares.
