·Yes you read that correctly, after just shy of 5 years on the waiting list I have my new Rolex Submariner 124060. I'd put my name down on the list back in late 2017 just a few days before my son was born, and I finally picked it up last week. I didn't have to buy any other watches and I paid retail price. Now I'm not sure why I was finally allocated one (and whether the impending global recession may be giving Rolex second thoughts about restricting supply), but I did go in to the Boutique every six months to follow up and ensure my name was still on the list. I think they were also trying to suss out whether I was a flipper or not.
Was it worth the wait? Yes it was, absolutely. I know Rolex gets a lot of flak regarding supply, service etc, but I have to say for me, the 124060 is a great watch and wears really well on my wrist. Now I'm sure not many people will be prepared to wait such a long time for a watch, but I was prepared to wait and I'm glad the watch lived up to my expectations.
