I’m new to this. Any alarm bells with this watch?

black Seamasters are extremely sought after, as are crosshairs, Arabic numerals, yellow lume, Ranchero style hour markers, broad arrow hands and lollipop hands. This seller cobbles all these elements together with his horrible fake dials.
.
This ^^
Compare to the below, look at the textures, the colors, the patina, the fine printing- credit @oldwatchlady for the Ranchero and Vintageportfolio for the Seamaster.

Wow, a non-restored dial in Maximilian’s @vintageportfolio pile of gussied up Omega leftovers. Good find. 😁

I emailed the seller to inquire about which model of "restored" vintage Seamaster this actually is. He replied saying that the watch has been "customized" and that it is disclosed under the "item specifics" part of the description. He is correct on that point, it is disclosed.

It sold for 1,021 GBP. Good Lord.

There’s been a gaggle of these over the last year or two. They always seems to sell £600-1200.

I feel sorry for the poor bastards buying them.

Yep. Just redial them with Ranchero indices, a crosshair and add some Mercedes hands with bright green lume and you can name your asking price!

Well, if I try to sell an original one here, everyone will shit on it and offer me $12. Obviously the folks buying on eBay know what makes for a good Seamaster.

Yes, I know. These pieces of crap are only worth $8 for the entire lot. I collect them only because I’m bored. I really have to get a set of magic markers and a blowtorch to get them ready to sell.

And clearly your Ranchero is down right boring compared to that Ploychrom hell-scape we saw above- maybe you can have at that with the stencil kit and improve it’s value.

Yes, I’m going to pick up a box of crayons and see what I can do.

Wonder if this is a different seller or the same seller using multiple accounts with different names? Considering what a franken this watch is, I love the irony in this part of the listing which addresses returns:

“If you are thinking of sending me anything other than the watch I sent you, e.g if you're planning on sending me back a fake, you will be reported to eBay and the watch goes in the bin, and no refund will be issued, so do not waste your time here. I will cover postage costs if it's something I have missed. If I haven't missed it, i.e it is visible in the images, video or has been described the buyer will have to cover the postage costs. Just be honest with me as I will be with you.”

This sort of rant is a real turnoff to me. I also see it on Craigslist a lot ... "Scammers, don't waste your time!" Just not the sort of seller I'd prefer to deal with.

Very much agree, Dan. Wouldn’t waste any time with this guy because the watch is a franken, but his attitude makes it even worse. No wonder he apparently gets a lot of returns.

Best part about eBay- he doesn’t really have a choice.
