It really is amazing. I bought mine, a December 2019 from the store find from a forum member. There where rumors already about it being discontinued and I joked with my wife about the possible value spike.

It is definitely a little more than I expected. I'd be tempted to sell it or trade it for a sky dweller or a Daytona but I actually really like the watch.

Beautiful. If you do like one though, difficult not to like the other. 😀 (value aside)

The funny thing is that when Hulk came out, everybody was making fun of the green dial and bezel, it was not selling fast and stocks piled up at AD. Now, everybody keep saying how amazing the dial is lol, how it already becomes a legend of Rolex ::facepalm1::::facepalm1::. Not sure if taste changes or people just follow the trend without their own personal taste.

I blame those fancy online reviews. Good thing I never liked the green dial and super case.

Price for the Hulk is absolutely stupid, prefer to put 10k on the new kermit...

Good luck with getting a new Kermit @10k as the new base no date Sub is asking for a £10k premium already over list price and I can't see a new Kermit being a better deal. Rolex are becoming a very unfunny joke IMHO. I mean really a mass produced stainless steel watch selling at over double list is just plain crazy and offers no value IMHO.

If I go to my AD and buy one New kermit will not have any premium to pay and I will never pay any premium for a rolex. It doesn't deserve any for an oyster watch

Seeing as you say you don't really like new Rolex's and leave them to others, so unless you are spending huge amounts with your AD what makes you think you even have a chance of getting a new Kermit from them? as it seems a very long shot nay impossible.

I'm with you no way would I pay a premium for a mass produced stainless steel Rolex that only the chosen can get at list and that in current times also seems to be a mug me magnet as well.

Sometimes is not about amount but more about relation with your AD .

Anyway I will stay far for this kind of watches. I could admit that I prefer the OYster perpetual line but again wont enter to my collection.

Today I had to ask my watchmaker to rewrite the insurance appraisal for my June 2018 Hulk because replacement values have climbed so high. It’s crazy to see them sell for double the MSRP now.

Agreeing with others above - Rolex mass produce watches on such a massive scale - the speculation and prices don't really make sense to me. There's probably more hulks around the world than all A Lange & Sohne watches ever made. Unless Rolex have actually massively decreased production (I don't think they have), the watches are still there, they're just being held by grey market dealers and speculators, and it's a bubble that will burst eventually.

Hulk isn’t a lovely watch on your hand. It draws too much attention I was embarrassed wearing mine

Correct. A private dealer I know just bought 4 Oyster Perpetual 36's (MSRP = $5,600) at $7,400 each, and sold them at $8,100 each. These watches never appeared on chrono24, eBay, or anywhere else. So: Authorized dealer buys OP 36 from Rolex for around $3,360 (60% of MSRP), then sells to flipper for perhaps $6,400 each. Flipper sells them to my dealer friend for $7,400, who then sells them to final customers for $8,100.

Multiply this hidden transaction by 1,000 and you get a Rolex "shortage," with the conspiracy theorists coming out of the woodwork screaming "Rolex is deliberately throttling production!!" No, it's just greedy people taking advantage of a bubble to make a profit.

Don't blame the watch.
