·Agreeing with others above - Rolex mass produce watches on such a massive scale - the speculation and prices don't really make sense to me. There's probably more hulks around the world than all A Lange & Sohne watches ever made. Unless Rolex have actually massively decreased production (I don't think they have), the watches are still there, they're just being held by grey market dealers and speculators, and it's a bubble that will burst eventually.
Well, A. Lange & Sohne makes around 5.000 pieces per year. Rolex 1 million? So you're probably right.
I've seen the Hulk in the metal up close, but personally think it looks cheap.
The color of the bezel combined with the dial doesn't match in some lighting conditions.
The new Kermit is already better looking.
In any case, I blame Instagram and other social media for the rapidly rising resale values of Hulks, Royal Oaks, Pateks, etc. Those watches grab more attention and lead to more likes online, thus making them more popular etc.
A vicious circle for sure ...
