How’s my Speedmaster running?

My Speedmaster 1861 005 was bought brand new in 2020…I’ve taken some readings using a Weishi 1900, just wondering how any experts reckon it’s running….let the watch sit for 15 mins before DU reading then 3 mins in between readings to settle and 3 mins check in each position…did a full wind test and 24hour test….it ran for a full 50 hours before stopping…..Lift angle 50
The watch was left untouched DU from Full wind until it was tested at the 24 hour stage..
Hope you can read my bad writing
Full wind sd +2.7
24 hour sd +5.5

You get credit in my book for using a fountain pen.

There are others much more well-versed in this than I, but if this were my watch, I would probably be satisfied.

Your watch is running well within Omega specs for that movement. I would be pleased with those results.

AS @ Archer stated running well within specs. Most of those 1861 seem to run fast and if the most you recorded was +5.5 then you are doing very well from my experience.

What’s the fountain pen?
It’s a Lamy 2000 fine….I’ve a few lesser expensive ones that I don’t use that much these days….the Lamy 2000 is the only one I use these days, it works really well

I'd love those specs on an 1861! Mine is less than a year old and runs +10 s/d so enjoy!

Drifting… sorry!

TWSBI Eco are amazing. Easy to clean and hold a ton of ink and seal airtight for ages. All my Lamy fountain pens invariably dry out. I’ve set aside Ecos for years at a time and they nearly always start up immediately (Sailor inks seem best in that regard).

Pen nerd out!

I think a six inch ruler would improve your life no end mate.😀

Anyway, I just wound my old 105.12-65....... and it's making a funny ticking noise!.... is that alright? 😕

Noooooooo! A steel ruler will wreck the nib of a fountain pen, using a plastic rule will damage the ruler. Even with real draughting pens I never ran a pen down a ruler, even though the pens wore out so much, especially drawing on mylar, that the heavily used sizes had to replaced regularly. At my expense not my employers 🙁

I bought my own ink too -- an incentive to get involved early in the development of CAD programs.

Ink is crucial, it sounds like the ink and the Lamy are not well matched. I found Yard-O-Led was worst in my Lamy. Waterman emerald no problem.
