Any regular courier or postal service should be able to do it. No special documents needed AFAIK from the buyer's point of view.

I live in Singapore, and I've used Fedex, UPS, DHL (for couriers) and various countries' postal services (Germany, UK, US, Italy etc) for watches and accessories. You have to declare GST though.

Well...for a valuable watch you should subscribe for a third party insurance like Parcel Pro which works with Fedex or UPS...Not sure with DHL..

Good luck with your sale..

Careful, DHL in many countries doesn't insure (or even allows to ship) jewelry and watches. It's in their terms & conditions, but still the employees offer it.

Surely you can make a case when the shit hits the fan, but still...

Depends on the country actually. In most cases you will need sort of an invoice/declaration.

UPS/DHL/FedEx do not insure watches valued over 500 USD.

I'd say Parcel Pro. You will need to register and open an account with them first. Good luck sending the watch.

As mentioned by other forum members here, if the buyer in Singapore requests for shipment with insurance then you'll have to purchase from a third party, e.g. Parcel Pro. On the contrary, if no insurance is required and the buyer is willing to assume all risk, you'll just be shipping the watch like you would any other items / goods.

Good luck!

Hallo,

please have a look in this thread:
https://omegaforums.net/threads/deutsche-post-problem.54604/#post-668405

I can't recommend DHL at all when it comes to shipping to Asia. They charge you a premium, you do not have proper tracking (parcel was 4 weeks in transfer to country of destination!) and you get the worst customer service ever. Please note DHL and DHL Express is something completely different in this case.

I would recommend EMS (Deutsche Post Wertbrief International, you can get insurance at 2 euro per 100 euro value) OR if you want an express door to door service trying these guys:

https://www.transglobalexpress.de/

This company is sharing it's business rates, which the get from the big parcel services, with it's customers.

For example 1kg small package door to door Germany to Asia with TNT for ~32 Eur.

Hope that helps!

P.S: You have to declare content and value of the parcel regardless which option you choose (easily done)

Addendum:
I once sent a watch with EMS to Australia (Deutsche Post Wertbrief International).
Unfortunately it got lost somewhere in the process after arriving in Australia, but after 6 weeks of investigation period (EMS standard) I got my money back. Luckily I chose the insurance option when posting (2eur/100eur value).

At the end it's a question what matters most to you: shipping time, quality/safety or cost efficiency. You can chose two at the same time 🙄

hi,
"...Do I need special documents for customs?!..."

Yes, you do. If you miss to fill out the according documents you can get into deep trouble. Let me continue in German:

Wenn du Waren mit einem Wert von über 1000 € aus der EU ausführen möchtest, musst du beim Zoll eine Ausfuhranmeldung beantragen. Die entsprechenden Dokumentenvordrucke gibt es allerdings nicht beim Zoll, sondern bei der IHK. Das Ausfüllen ist für den Laien alles andere als einfach.

Viel Erfolg!

I ship to Asia with DHL EXPRESS every week and it's very fast, my watches / watch parts are fully insured with DHL.
I do have a special arrangement with them though and you need to be a business with an export license plus invoices etc.
As far as I know DHL are the only courier to accept watches over $500, FEDEX do but only with zero insurance. Most others refuse if worth over $500.

Regards, John.

One trick the likes of parcel pro will do is to declare the item as "precision instrument". Many precision instruments can be worth a lot of money but aren't very interesting to prospective thrives and are harder to sell. A box marked " vintage watch", at $20K might be tempting.

ParcelPro warn against 'descriptive' shipping details particularly brand names - 'precision instrument' is a good way to circumvent this.
It seems that most shippers will refuse to accept valuable watches and jewellery.
You should also bear in mind that under declaring the value will often render the any insurance null and void.
ie. You ship a watch real value $5k but the maximum insurance with the shipper is $2k.
If the item is stolen the shipper can check the 'real' value and refuse to pay out on the $2k because of 'under declaration' of value.

It depends frpm country to country, but when it comes to DHL or FedEx, i believe both are sharing their policies globaly and whta they offer in a country os same with other country.

Here in my country, i use DHL and i can insure it for full amount. The maximum amount to insure is 6000 usd...

The other way negotiate with the buyer in order to fly yourself ( 700 €) ticket with the watch on you, this avoid the custom taxes, before get all ready and no discussion afterwards , did it a couple of time spending the WE there .
