How often do you see the 3861 in the wild?

In my opinion, Mr. Federer is the best ambassador for the brand. I also think that the marketing team dropped the ball with that reference, in this case.
Good point. It's probably the only model I've seen him wear that mere mortals can obtain.

I saw one recently in a small provincial town in England, in a co-working space I was using. I think I've seen one in the wild on maybe two other occasions round here, and perhaps twice in London.

Never see hesalite 3861's sadly, occasionally see assorted sapphire speedys in Tampa but it just depends on where you hangout. If you're at the country club or around finance bros and maybe lawyers or execs, you'll see them a little more. Just went to Omega Boutique in Tampa today and saw 3 SMP300's around the mall which is nice to see, so sick of seeing the same Datejust on everyone. I do remember seeing multiple speedys at Millenia Mall in Orlando recently, but that's expected given the mall.

You see your own in the wild? How unusual is that?
It's quite unusual actually - till end of last last year, I have never seen my own Speedy in the wild! Go figure...

NYC here. Not as frequently as Rolexes and Cartiers, but still quite frequent. Was the most popular watch in the office a Japanese investment company I used to work in.

Also frequently see PRXs and various SKXs as well.

I saw a person at work with a 3861 on.

I asked him about it and he noted that his dad had worked at NASA and he purchased the watch in his honor after his passing... pretty cool.

I've only seen a Speedy in the wild once, not counting my own or when I go to Redbar meetups.

Funny enough, I was walking along a waterfront in Brooklyn last weekend and spotted my first reverse panda in the wild
Just saw a white 3861 at the Vancouver (WA) Waterfront earlier today.

Never seen another in the wild, until this week. Holiday in Corfu, watch spotting at the hotel, recognised that new bracelet design, someone wearing a sapphire sandwich 3861, but only in the evenings and never around the pool.

(Watch choice of the hotel guest seemed to be the current gen Seamaster pro, 2 blues & 2 blacks spotted in 11 days) plus and older gen pre ceramic GMT Seamaster in blue.

Well there's a pool nearby, obviously the Speedmaster isn't suitable! Everyone knows you need a minimum of 300m water resistance to be able to go near a pool.

Nah, that's yesterday's guideline. it's now 300 M of water resistance to wash your hands and 600 M for the pool.

While its not the topic of this thread, I see the MoonSwatch literally everywhere, I can't walk through a shopping centre without seeing several and they're so colourful that you spot them from a mile away.

I was watching the Philippine senate president with my Mrs last night and I noticed that this bloke goes from wearing his moon phase dress watch in senate chambers where he doesn't expect to be noticed:

And then does a quick "man of the people" watch change to a Snoopy Moonphase MoonSwatch the same day when he's dropping a fellow senator off at the prison to face charged.

That seems to be a popular use case for the MoonSwatch for a lot of very wealthy people wanting to pretend otherwise for the cameras, sort of similar to that celebrity trend of owning a Prius in the 2000s. All great marketing for the Speedmaster regardless

I haven't ever seen one in the wild beyond any Omega-based activities (boutique visit, Omega events, etc.). Not even at a wider watch event, but then the brands at those shows tend to be more micro brands as opposed to the "big leagues".
