·I did some filming at a Waterfowl art festival this weekend, and I've never seen such a density of watches. Mostly Tudor, Omega, Rolex, and Cartier. In particular, early 2000s Seamasters seemed very popular with the crowd.
I was surfing You Tube earlier today, and found an edition of Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. The guest was the comedian Foster Brooks, famous for his portrayal of a drunk. Brooks was wearing what I am dead right certain was a Hamilton Pulsar LED wrist watch. The program was from the early 1970s, and just about the time that Hamilton introduced the watch, touting it as “The Watch of the Future (again). It had an asking price of $1,500.00! Carson mentioned that Brooks was wearing a “new” watch.
I saw a black Submariner Date on a guy today. I noticed it after I had put handcuffs on him. He had a warrant out for his arrest. That was definitely a first for me in my 20 years on. I usually come across Apple Watches more than anything. Oh well. Guess I can check that one off the list.
