·A few minutes ago while browsing the latest modern Omega offerings at YYZ Int’l Airport, another young gentlemen took a glance beside me. I noticed a lovely faded Pepsi GMT on his wrist. I don’t have the hawk eyes that others seem to have, and even if I’d gotten a better view I wouldn’t have been able to nail down the reference or year. As he walked away with his young female companion I commented “you’re likely not going to find anything here as nice as what you’re wearing already...”. He smiled and laughed in acknowledgement and his companion also chuckled and said something that confirmed she was well aware he had a lovely watch on.
I would have loved to ask him for a picture, but I felt I’d already been weird enough by commenting... so you’ll have to take my word for it. 😉
I also had an encounter with a gentleman wearing a faded Pepsi GMT at Universal Studios Orlando last month just before Halloween. He didn't recognize my Omega Ti Planet Ocean 9300 but was interested in seeing it as well.
It was funny because he said that he has a new replacement Rolex Pepsi bezel but was "saving it until after he wears out the original bezel". He didn't know that the value of the watch is actually higher with it's original faded bezel, especially since it had no scratches.
