How often do you see ANY nice watch in the wild?

Tintin wears an Explorer scoop.....read it here first!
Tin Tin, like any self respecting explorer, wore a Smiths Everest. Rolex are just trying to muscle in on the game.

Almost never see any nice watches but was on a flight the other day and a young couple had a Rolex Deepsea Sea Dweller (he) and a gold Datejust (she). The airline's October inflight magazine has a feature on watches with the Sea Dweller labelled in the "Exhibitionist" category and that label was not well received by one passenger!

Really I would think that the "Exhibitionist" category would have had a Hublot and one of the less than elegant AP models, instead of a FM and a PP.

Agree with you 100% which is why we don’t take watch buying advice from airline magazines.

Was at a hospital, when I saw some security guards wearing a white face Daytona w/ diamond indices. The other a black face Grand Seiko.

Guess we know who has been raiding the pharmacy for opioids.

@Professor Nice one, sadly quite plausible given the current state of opioid diversion.

On a lighter touch, I saw a friend(non-watch guy) sport a vintage VC 1003 with roman numerals. Half-tempted to ask him if he'd sell it. Similar to this one:

Rarity to see nice watches here. I seem to be the only one here wearing vintage in Central Iowa.

I complimented this guy on his IWC sitting next to me at the bar....

Turns out it was this.

My boss's son showed up last Friday wearing AP acting all cool and nonchalant. Pretty sure his dad doesn't know how much it costs.

A few minutes ago while browsing the latest modern Omega offerings at YYZ Int’l Airport, another young gentlemen took a glance beside me. I noticed a lovely faded Pepsi GMT on his wrist. I don’t have the hawk eyes that others seem to have, and even if I’d gotten a better view I wouldn’t have been able to nail down the reference or year. As he walked away with his young female companion I commented “you’re likely not going to find anything here as nice as what you’re wearing already...”. He smiled and laughed in acknowledgement and his companion also chuckled and said something that confirmed she was well aware he had a lovely watch on.

I would have loved to ask him for a picture, but I felt I’d already been weird enough by commenting... so you’ll have to take my word for it. 😉

Ha! A Jack Mason watch tripped me up one day at Trader Joe's too - not this same model, but looked quite interesting... till I realized it wasn't.

In hindsight I think it was actually this one.

It’s finished to a higher level. I really thought it was a petite prince from a few feet away.

I had a doctor a few months back where I was trying to figure out what vintage sub he was wearing.... finally figured out it was an old Stienhart...

some Pateks (calatrava or Aqua),
Omega's and Breitling's quite often

A few months ago I attended a large trade exhibition in Berlin and caught sight of quite a few nice watches, in fact I met someone wearing the exact same watch as me.

1. I went to a convention of top police officers and i spent half the time looking at the wrist. Most of the time it looks like a tag quartz and smart watches.

2. Went to a charity event and the only nice watch I've seen was my boss' brother. A batman. It's hard to identify some watches but some looks like DW.

3. Went to a small wedding of one of my friends. A lady was wearing a 36mm ballon bleu. Prettiest I've ever seen. The lady was alright.

I am still waiting for a salesperson in Melbourne, Australia to post here back in Easter. He asked if he could take a look at the movement of my lange while i was looking for shoes

I was out of town for a small meeting last week in Chicago and the presenter had on a Cartier of some sort and another guy at my round table had on a Grand Seiko of some sort.
I thought those two were interesting choices, not something I would expect to see necessarily.
