How often do you see ANY nice watch in the wild?

Leo’s Taco in Los Angeles. It’s a taco truck joint in a gas station.

You with a Spectre or standard SM300 with a Bond Nato, nice watch! I think that is the first time I have seen this watch outside an OB/AD. Looks great in natural light.

I wanted to ask which one, but did not want to come off like a weirdo, striking up a conversation while getting a street taco about an Omega.

At the Orange Julius today and saw an Apple Watch again.

I don't think that qualifies as a nice watch.

I'm hoping that was the joke. Since I can't go out anywhere and not see an Apple watch on at least a dozen people's wrists. I'd comfortably say that of people wearing some sort of watch like object, at least 50 percent or more are "smart" watches, and 75% of those are apple watches.

A lot of Apple watches every day in office, worn mostly by young people.
During the weekend I met my father in law -an old watch lover with some nice pieces in collection- wearing a brand new Citizen Eco Drive.
But all of a sudden yesterday I bumped into an ordinary person on the street wearing an Omega Speedmaster Reduced.

Joined my grandfather today for his weekly Rotary International meeting / lunch.
A gentleman at the table next to me had a Speedy so of course I wanted to go over there and strike up a conversation about it (aka get a better look at it) but he left before I could!
Could not really tell exactly what he had since I was a bit too far away to see the small details.
Maybe I'll catch him another time.

Edit:
Also pretty sure I peeped a Planet Ocean of some flavor.
And definitely a Rolex or 2.
But obviously I only had the Speedy on my mind.

Well that escalated quickly! 😲😁

I still see very few smart watches, but I have noticed a steep increase of fitbit style things, also surprising how many people don't wear a watch at all. Strange people.

I agree - it's really nice in person. He talked to his dad - he bought it (new) in 1971 in the Panama Canal Zone while he was in the Army. Said he paid around $300 for it then...

I'd love to run into another Speedy in the wild... very occasionally, I see them on someone's wrist on TV, but that's about all.

Sunday I was at an Irish dance school show on Long Island, saw two polar Explorer IIs.
