    I'm guessing it's a Zenith. :D

I was thinking about that, but didn't want to go out on a limb.

Seller said hands are generic. I am planning re-dialing it into white dial with blue hands/index.

I agree - it looks like a 106 - I don't think you will find many NOS cases but good luck. There will be quite a few watches in circulation with movements in poor condition, so you may be able to buy one and use your movement to make it serviceable. Yours is a Swiss movement with the 7 digit serial #. Besancon Zeniths used 106 movements well into the 1950's and were 6 digits. Interestingly, my profile photo is a 1950's Besancon 106 that I bought in working condition. I took it in for service and my watchmaker said it was very rough. He suggested that I buy a used movement for parts off Ebay, which I did. These are not terribly collectible, so the marriage is not really much of an issue with me. It brought an old piece, with character back to life.

I just checked Ebay and there was not much there that is not over-priced. In Canada, we have Kijiji which is our version of Craig's list - they sometimes have beater watches posted that are reasonably priced. Online estate auction's are also a good place to look. HiBid.com is a good one in North America. Most places will ship items purchased. Good luck with your project.
