Hi,

From my side : 5 brands, 6 vintage watches today (that I wear happily, with a kind of boyish satisfaction) & I've started less than 2 years, thinking I would get only one 馃槜

- Omega 2
- Croton/Nivada 1
- Seiko 1
- King Seiko 1
- Zenith 1

And on my wishlist/dreamlist (should I really do that ? I wonder馃う), I've got at least 20 more brands I would happily buy in.

The last 2 purchase coming from OF. Thanks for that guys. Now I should stop looking at the "private sales" threads as it is seriously too dangerous... at least for a while 馃憤

OK, I counted.
34 wrist watch brands (not counting parts watches)
6 pocket watch brands (not counting a few really obscure pieces)

With one overlap between WW and PW, that is a total of 39 brands. About 70 watches total.

Brands with two or more watches: Eterna, Gallet, IWC, Lemania, Longines, Omega, Rolex, Seiko

Before I got sucked into this thing of ours, I found that Victorinox makes very tough and well styled sports watches. I had several. This Mechanical Diver is their successor. It鈥檚 a great beater, looks cool, is built like a tank and you can read by the lume. ETA 2892 Movement. The rubber strap is soft, tough and comfortable.

Counting is thinking about Fight Club. And, like any good accumulator, I don鈥檛 want to think about Fight Club, let alone talk about it. 馃槜

Too many watches, for sure. Way too many. That鈥檚 my best estimate and I鈥檓 sticking to it. (All those pretty faces have been too much for me!)
:whipped:

Two examples of what irresistible impulse looked like to me:

What choice did I have? 馃グ

(Including all those pocket watches I acquired in the 80鈥檚, somewhere between 75 and 100.) 馃う And be careful before you sneer - let鈥檚 see where you are after forty years of accumulation.

Because I tend to focus on particular brands and references, my catalog of manufacturers is not nearly as large. Maybe ten? 馃憥

Past time to sell a few. 馃檮

^ that鈥檚 good enough i think, sir.

If i read the title right, OP just wants to find out how many watch brands each of us owns (not how many watches and not what these brands are 馃榾).

Haha, let them confess and be set free. Some great collections here, a huge spectrum of brands and styles.

Rolex and Tudor seem to be different brands even if same ownership from the start.

Are Seiko, Grand Seiko, Credor and Seiko 5 four different brands? Or are they four different lines/collections of the same Seiko brand? I suppose Prospex, Presage, Premier, Brightz, Galante and LX Prospex are model lines.

This is a great point.
Makes me rethink a lot about certain brands. Certain houses make different models for very different customers but are part of the same house and shouldn鈥檛 be differentiated based on models.

IMO Rolex and Tudor are separate brands as are Seiko, Grand Seiko and Credor.

Happy for Rolex and Tudor, Seiko and Credor.

But Seiko and Grand Seiko.... No.
Well they could have made a different brand but chose to keep Seiko which holds them back a bit in my view. How many times have we heard $5- 10k For a Seiko
