How many Rolex's do you own?

As you can see, I really like stick dials. To me, a dial sans date and numerals has such a clean, uncluttered look. The Oyster Perpetual is a great watch, and so many colors to choose from.

Couldn't agree more. I was debating between the champagne and olive green dials. Both so spectacular. I wanted both so my mom got the olive green so I can borrow it anytime 😉

Ok a pic of what is on my wrist now ... 1963/64 rolex 1016 !

That is awesome. Do you think they are worth the high premium now (for a new buyer)?

Vague question, can you explain what you mean?

General rule of thumb for vintage Rolex value is gilt > matte > gloss (with WG surrounds).

Bill's 1016 is gilt, and within that category there are chapter ring dials and non-chapter rings (like his). On average, CRs are more valued than non-CRs. These days both matte and gilt 1016s carry a substantial premium on anything later than them in the Explorer I line. A very good matte on bracelet can fetch >$15k most days of the week in the public setting. A non-CR gilt in very good condition (sans bracelet) just went for $32k at a (relatively) small watch auction in Boston last week. Not to say that that's what every one is worth/sold for but they have gone up substantially in the last year.

Here's a site I made to categorize all the 1016 variations, I'd look there to get some more background on them: explorer1016.com

Hope that helps. -- Andrew

I'm now down to 3, having sold off all my older ones, leaving me with a 2019 Steel Pepsi GMT II that came in a few days ago (date not set yet), plus a 2018 Submariner Hulk and 2018 SubC ND that I traded for last summer.

No modern one's for me, I prefer those of the 50's and 60's.

I got my latest one, a ref. 6480 with quarter waffle dial, last month,

... the ref. 1603 two weeks before that,

... and the other two (2940 and 6581) I bought from @kyleL a few years ago.

And all 4 of these from fine Omega Forum buddies! 👍

The 1958 ref. 6480 solo:

Still only three, Sub date standard, Sub Hulk and Explorer II polar. Happy I purchased my Hulk before all the new Rolex sales model took effect. I would own more but the lack of availability has kept me from owning more. I refuse to pay more than the MSRP. So Omega and a Ulysse Nardin have been getting my business.

A couple of 1675 (1965, 1977) and a 5512 (1965).
The 1675 “radial dial” is the youngest watch of all mine.
That 5512 is the one to die for.
