Well I have been honest but she doesn't beleive me, says everything about our relationship . My watchmaker has implored to make a list with values in case I kick off !

My Wife is German, holds an MBA from an English University…& is deadly efficient

She already has an XL sheet with case numbers, movement numbers, price paid, & market values…and the name of a close mutual friend, ( & Forum Member ), in Barcelona, who will do the necessary disposal, should I unexpectedly ‘fall off my twig’

Her continued financial security is far more important to me, than concealing my purchases

I recall reading a comment somewhere from a guy who said his greatest fear was dying, and his wife selling his bicycles for what he told her they cost.

My wife has seen all the boxes my watches have been delivered in. Most are at my office, and she has observed them when visiting there. It is not my fault if she did not ask me what had been packed inside of those boxes, or if she assumed they had contained work-related items... She may have asked once about the Polish writing on a box from Darek, and it is highly possible I answered in a manner reminiscent of Bill Clinton...

I bought some favor this spring by dumping a rather big pile of $ into landscaping and a new deck...and selling a couple of guitars to aid with the financing, I made sure she saw the cases going out the door and the tears streaming down my face 😉

I used to work fulltime for a subsidiary of Swatch Group in SUI and was given a bunch of their various brand watches so as long as new arrivals are Omega/Longines/Tissot/Swatch I'm covered! The only danger is the 2 Rolexes...

Mrs. noelekal knows she can know about them all, but she doesn't care.

She does have her favorites.

My excitement about an "incoming" is usually a giveaway. Must practice my poker face.

Have four watches. A Tag Aquaracer, SMPc 300 Diver, Speedmaster ‘57 and a G-Shock steel. My wife can’t tell one from the other - “Why do you have four watches that all look the same?” Err. Shoes? Handbags? Earrings? Necklace's? Bracelets? All the same too!

I bought a really big safe some years back.
Better half has commented on the ever decreasing space left over for “her stuff “....
I suggested it was shrinking. She did not buy that one. 😬😁
5-10 watches are dangerous. She would be able to tell them apart.
Not in that danger zone by s far shot.
Cheers

It's the same way with the gun collection. All the same.

She was in the "gun room" with me one evening and wanted to catalog the most valuable and sentimentally important ones along with the stories behind them, which escalated into her making her own list by serial number so she'd know what is on hand if I kick off (I already have a list on computer). We only got through the Smith & Wesson shelf that evening. Still have the Colt shelf and the "all other brands" shelf to go before she starts on the long arms.

Only thing is, she discovered the pair of watch rolls standing among the long arms which are over and above the watches "roosting" in the netting pockets on the safe door. She only rolled her eyes at this discovery.

With the change in the title of the thread, the responses are now a bit confusing.

The title change is obviously a clever ruse intended to throw prying wives with prying eyes off their efforts to catch us out because the title is now as imponderable as the question of how many spirits can dance on the head of a pin.

“Where did you get that?”

“Oh, I’ve had it for a long time, just pulled it out of the safe box last weekend - totally forgot about it.”

The real question is...

How many moderators does it take to tighten a loose screw in a former moderator?

A loose screw on a loose cannon?

But, he's our loose cannon.
