This was the first watch that I bought in 1984 at Bombay with my first salary!
Sadly it was pickpocketed in a local train within a month. I still remember this watch.

Hardly worth the pickpocket's effort given the price of these although I am curious about why it was in your pocket and not on your wrist?
Happily, now easily replaceable at very little cost or effort.

I entirely agree with most of what you said.
It was on my wrist only and was taken by someone, we call pickpocketeer, by neatly cutting the strap with safety razor that I realised only after a while when I looked at my wrist after grabbing a seat on a crowded local train during rush hour.
You need to be there to get the feel of the situation inside a Mumbai local train during morning and evening rush hours!
