Came across this old image earlier, apologies as it just may have been posted back in the mists of time. I started out mainly in to pocket watches and primarily military pieces and as you just may make out if you have good eyesight interests widened. Now only a couple of the originals remain but no regrets, fun all the way Sure I am not alone ?
No, you are not alone. I started out just collecting vintage American wristwatches and now my collection is mostly Swiss with a few American and Japanese brands. We are all evolving... Beautiful pocket watches too... I remember how enamored I was with the Graves watch manufactured in the 1930s by Patek Philippe... an amazing marvel. Don’t want to be controversial. At one point pocket watches were very fashionable and wrist watches less so. But now interest in pocket watches has decreased, how much I don’t know. Do we see something similar happening to wrist watches? Below is an interview with George Somlo who owns the famous Somlo watch Shop in London https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/episode-4-somlo-antiques-vintage-omega “Ask Somlo about wristwatches, and he’ll be the first to admit he didn’t think they would become as popular as they are today.”
