Got it back today and took a quick snap. I think I'll get the camera on a tripod and play some macro games this afternoon.
I have a thing for these Calender seamaster’s, I think the proportions, dial layout and text lines (2 top, 2 bottom) are just so beautifully balanced. On my wish list for sure

Lol!! Gonna leave that alone.
Edit- I never said I disliked patina, I just hate people using it as a marketing tool

Thanks for the welcome! This board is an incredible resource. The Seamaster' s in the shop getting a crystal as the old one had a hole in it. Here's one of the Carrera. There are some people here who take great photos. I'm trying to step up my game there, too. 😀
What a beautiful specimen. 1.Execution too. Could you share a photo of the case back? and do you know the serial number (first 2 digits) - as it would be interesting to know how early this one is?

I thought I had photos, but can't find any now. I do remember that it has a 1959 ser# and cal 503 movement. If I locate a photo, I'll share.

Oh and @Observer , your Carerra is one of my grails- truly one of the sexiest sport watches ever made IMO
I'm in love with it. Wish I wasn't afraid to wear it.

Maybe I was unclear but I was referring to the carrera 2447s...serial number should be 5X or 6X

I was out of the hobby for a while and was talking to a buddy of mine a few years ago about watches. He said “do you have any idea how much your GMT and Speedy are worth?” I didn’t and I wore them daily. Now that I know it doesn’t affect how I wear them, because I lived in ignorant bliss for so long why would that change.

I figure, we take cars out in the world every day that are worth more than our watches (well, some are worth more than a car), and we don’t fret much over that.

@MRC Thanks again for pointing out the pusher. Spoke to the watchmaker today and he says it's probably just a loose screw and a $40 fix.
@ryanbk ser# is 626XX. Sorry about crappy lighting, I'm a lazy photographer.

Nice, thanks.
A shame you are not wearing it more...
