Well, based on my experience with Lucas electrics in my old Jag, I'd not likely trust them to drive a car for me...😉

It was always a tough reputation to overcome in the Lucas Aerospace part of the business, but when you discover that the Rolls Royce RB211-524G/H engines powering many Boeing aircraft had Lucas FADECs I think it’s safe to say that they (the engineers) could do things right when management let them.

Harkening back to the Dick Tracy comics of my youth, and the wrist radios that Chester Gould (the writer) foresaw all those decades ago. And here we are. Computers in the temple of your spectacles. Microscopic cameras that can travel through the circulatory system and broadcast what it sees.

And monetizing it all.

In my line of work, it’s the use of technology in health that’s been fascinating and remarkable - if you haven’t already, check out: surgical robots, 3d printing (eg for customised orthopaedic joints), bio printing, cell & gene therapies (eg. CAR-T), smart pills, wearables, nano medicine- the list is incredible, and will likely have a much greater direct impact on us than say flying cars.

Well, it’s either that or sex robots, which are apparently now also a thing…
