I'm sorry did see that part of the thread, I always heard that Jaeger Lecoultre Futurematic was discontinued because the Futurematic servicing issues with the complications of the movement ?
Mine do run pretty well , but the mainspring stoppage at ten hours doesn't perform.

Let's not forget the series of movements from zenith ranging from the 2522 to 2572 which were among the best produced by Zenith, they featured a bronze beryllium balance and several advanced features. Zenith vintage automatic movements were among the best ever produced

Another automatic that I feel was a breakthrough was the perimeter rotor. The first of those I ever encountered was a Patek Philippe. Instead of the rotor pivoting on a central post, the rotor has an internal ring gear which activates the winding mechanism. The Patek rotor has jewelled rollers around the perimeter that run in a race. It is a beautiful system to watch in operation. The first photo is the Patek. The second is a Font 65-4 movement (shows in Ranfft).
