A sad day yesterday. We had to say 'goodbye' to our Old Lady. She suffered a stroke, and could no longer stand.

We took her to the Vet, and gave her fuss until it was over. 13 years, 3 months, and seven days. A most wonderful companion, who had a working dogs' dream life. I was privileged to have been her partner.

This was taken yesterday morning. I can see in her look, she knew.

Steve.
Condolences to you on losing your soul dog-partner.She'll be waiting over the bridge.

Polo started his steroids on Wednesday and after a horrible day on Thursday they seem to be working.
Rather than the dull sedated Polo who kept falling over, the pre seizure dog is back.
The familiar facial expressions, noises and Polo-isms are in evidence so we're enjoying them while we can.

I’m really sorry for your loss. It’s so very hard to say good bye to these loving companions of ours.

Jackson’s inquisitive Westie nature has him always wanting to be right up front where the action is.

This was him last year with the fridge repair technician.

Earlier today I was swapping some bracelets and putting watches back in the safe. He had to get in on the action once again.

It has been a year since we said goodbye to Zelda, and she is still in our thoughts every single day. This is how I like to remember her, in her prime and in the mountains that she loved so much to explore with us.

It's amazing how long our feeling of loss lingers. It's been eight months since Boomer left us to chase squirrels in the clouds, but there are many sights and places which still trigger instant tears.

In this photo I'm with Boomer on our last walk together...

...and in this photo I'm with Riley, from the next furry generation to be part of our family. The rock next to Riley is the rock I was sitting on in the previous photo. Many tears were shed while I was there with Riley.

Soon to be 5years that the cat love of my life departed. Matilda was the one being I lived longest with besides my wife.
still think a lot of her despite the two “new” cats we have now.

I often think of the many lovely images of Zelda in the mountains. 🥰

A baby magpie found and brought home in Brisbane grew to be a happy member of the family, but recently made the news because wildlife protection officers decided it was not a good environment, and the owners had not been given a proper wildlife licence (!). Fortunately commonsense prevailed and the magpie has been returned to the family.
