Here’s a shameless plug for my very good friend who happens to be a very talented artist. He’s also a watch aficionado! Our love for vintage watches is what forged our friendship which goes back to 2007. On our last visit to his house, he gifted me with these amazing portraits of our pet cats. Dare I recommend you visit his website if you wish to have your pets immortalized by a very gifted artist.

Polo had his MRI scan yesterday and showed what I'd feared, a lesion near the brain.

He was getting stressed out so a nurse rang to ask if I'd pick him up an hour earlier than usual.

The vet rang later and said he's got about 3-4 months if he goes on steroids, a bit longer if he had radiotherapy.

He doesn't like going to the vets, he doesn't like being in cars unless he's going on holiday so driving for radiotherapy isn't an option.

I asked about taking our boy out for walks as the phenobarbital seems to have his seizures on the back foot and I was told there is no right or wrong, if he wants to walk then take him.

Last night for the first in a while he slept with us and managed the stairs OK.

Exactly 6 years ago today.
The bog looks tempting but he'd been stuck in stuff like that before and learned his lesson.

On his first ever walk with us he demonstrated his love of mud 😁

Just going into a wood was a stretch of the black stuff and he sprinted through it and boy was he proud of himself.
Luckily for us we were near a reservoir where he enjoyed a paddle.
He topped the day off by eating an ice cream, another polo favourite

2023 was a hard year for us, having lost our two dogs which had been part of our family for over fifteen years...

...and since Mrs. Jones and I are now in our late 60s we realize that we've probably got just one more dog life-cycle left before we're too old to handle raising any more pups...

...so late last year and early this year we dove in headfirst, welcoming two more furry children into our home: Maui, our furry boy, who's now six months old...

...and Riley our furry little girl, now four months old...

...of course, they've been getting Trail Dog training right from the start.

I’m sorry to hear about that news. Hopefully you will have some good quality time with him while he’s on the steroids. They can be a miracle.

Polo and mud again, a year ago in Kendal.

Walking past an AD we saw a Longines le Grande Classique in the window that my missus liked.
The clincher was allowing Polo in.

A lovely part of the world and almost guaranteed to come across some mud 😀

Stayed in the Riverside where we've been before.
As it was buffet breakfast and we had to pay another tenner/night for Polo we made sure he had a cooked breakfast.I'm sure he could smell it as we went up the stairs to our room 😀

Visiting the 'Lakes' with my dearly departed old pal back in 2008, I still clearly remember drying him off when we went back to our motorhome 🥰

Danielle Collins just won the Miami Open. She’s attributed much of her success to the support from her puppy.

There are upsides and downsides to having two puppies in the house...

...downside: stepping on one of these with bare feet, in the dark, while carrying puppy outside at 2am to go p-p

...upside: well, that's obvious
