until I found the best way was coat it in butter from the careers for these guys in Tasmania. Works a treat everytime now.

Well the Brie idea seemed to get old with her after a couple of days, so went back to my go to hiding material, which is peanut butter. But even with that, the antibiotic was still something she wasn't fond of, so rather than just sticking the pill on the PB and letting her eat it, I had to roll it up in a messy ball of PB, and open her mouth and just jam it in there. Don't think I would try that with a Tassie Devil though...

Thankfully the antibiotics are done as of this morning, and now it's just the pain killers as needed...

I volunteer at a reading program for kids in a very poor neighbourhood. A few months ago, a cat killer was caught after he disembowelled a neighbour's cat, it was upsetting as i helped to look after the cats there.

Last week, the cat activist contacted me with this pic. Apparently, the cat killer was released after serving some time under observation.
It sparked off a search that took several days & many long hours of walking around the neighborhood late at night. We found him now he's with me.
Turns out he's Cocoa's brother & a real sweetheart.

Cocoa is not impressed though, and is sulking far away from us.

The vet says it might have been done with boiling water. Police won't act because they have no proof, he'd better pray i don't catch him.

My dear ol' boy. Was given up by my vet a year ago, got 2nd opinion & surgery... twelve months later he's full of life.

Hope to celebrate his 14th birthday in March.

Happy birthday Chunky! 😀

I'll pass on your regards. Don't know where the years have gone as it only seems like yesterday when we picked him up and he used to hide under the table and bite our toes whilst we ate. I'll never forget those puppy teeth.

Raven at the vet for a recheck with the neurologist yesterday...she was understandably anxious being back there as the last visit was not fun since she stayed several days and had major surgery:

We also saw the surgeon again, and had all those stitches removed:

She is really getting along quite well, and everyone seems happy with her progress. 👍

In another week we start on the physio exercises, but she is already greatly improved in terms of her movement and stability as compared to immediately prior to the surgery. Now we are trying to get her to gain some weight because she lost about a kilo since the surgery - first few days was not eating a lot.

So far so good.

I'm in a different place caring for Banzai who turns 15 next month. My passionate and skilled hunter (death to rabbits) has become an old man that they ignore. This is my first experience caring for an elderly dog. It ain't easy but we persevere. He's healthy but has some sight issues, hearing loss and weakness in his rear legs. Here he is starting PT this week. Laser and massage is already making a difference.
Good for you Larry, I had two German Shepherds that both lived to 14yrs. They were faithful to me, I was faithful to them to the very end. No expense spared for my best friends.
